The undeniable sign that spring is coming

Other people have been boasting that their asparagus is sprouting and I was getting a little green-eyed. Today I noticed it here – two sizable spears, which will be the first harvests from my asparagus bed. I think they are old enough to handle a light harvest this year.

Now what will I make with them?
